Elmira and its surrounds is more than a collection of memorable structures sharing a beautiful valley with the Chemung River. Elmira would not exist except for its people. With gracious help from one elmira-ny visitor, we open a new photo section, Life in the Valley... an area devoted to images from the everyday lives of people who grew up, lived, and worked in Elmira, and who all, in many different ways, played a role in making Elmira what it was, and is today.
 
Everyone is invited to contribute and participate in this attempt to recapture, collect, preserve and share in these glimpses of life in Elmira.
